RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – A survey from jobs website FlexJobs ranks North Carolina ninth for remote, or telecommuting, positions. And scores of such jobs are currently available.

FlexJobs defines the telecommuting positions as  having “state-specific criteria, meaning, candidates were required to be located in a certain place.”

In North Carolina, among the most active online recruiters for such jobs in 2017 according to FlexJobs were:

  • Amgen
  • Lowe’s
  • Pharmaceutical Product Development

On its website, FlexJobs lists a wide variety of telecommuting as well as temporary and part-time positions. They include:

  • Software programming
  • Information security
  • Data analyst
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Technical writer
  • Sign language interpreter

More than 200 positions were posted from March 1 through March 11.

Interestingly, Raleigh-based Red Hat is listed as one of the biggest telecommuting positions posted in California.
