Daydream Mirage Solo

MORRISVILLE – Lenovo’s standalone virtual reality headset is no longer a dream; it’s heading to market.

Several media outlets report that Lenovo will begin selling the Mirage Solo Daydream VR gadget as of May 11 at a price of $400.

They cite a B&H catalog listing.

The Verge suspects that the release date is real.

“Google’s 2018 I/O developer conference ends the day before the Mirage Solo supposedly goes on sale,” The Verge reports.

“If Google wants to talk about progress in Daydream VR (such as the Mirage Solo’s self-contained positional tracking), what better way to cap things off than to sell a headset that takes advantage of the latest features? This could certainly be unintentional, but the timing is uncanny.”

Lenovo, which operates one of its two global headquarters in Morrisville, announced the Daydream at the Consumer Electronics Show in January and promised delivery in a few months.
