RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK –  The Council for Entrepreneurial Development is launching a new program called GRO, a 9-week incubator for startups that begins on October 5.
The application period is open and runs through Sept. 10.
GRO is aimed at supporting high-growth, high-impact companies looking to grow their venture through valuable programming and coaching.

CED has supported high-growth entrepreneurial companies for decades. In fact, over 1000 companies successfully completed the Fast Trac® and its sister program Fast Trac® Tech Venture™  Program CED operated for 16 years. Companies like, Precision Biosciences, Transloc and Spoonflower have all found success through valuable CED programming.

Jay Bigelow, VP of Entrepreneurship, eight year veteran of CED, entrepreneur and investor, points out:

“So many great companies in the Triangle got their start by going through CED’s Fast Trac® Fast Trac® Tech Venture.  So much has changed in how new high-growth companies get started but the need for a proven road map, expert guidance and the tips and techniques for how to start and grow the business remains the same. I am excited to launch GRO and welcome out first cohort this fall”

GRO will incorporate the foundations of iContact Founder Ryan Allis’s Ecademy – Entrepreneurship Course throughout weekly classes delivered by talented speakers along with other foundational learning elements.
Participants of GRO will also receive 1:1 coaching from industry leaders and entrepreneurs and complete assignments that will help them launch their venture.
This cohort’s content is focused on technology companies, and future cohorts will focus on life science.

The cost of the program is $950 which grants participants of GRO long-term access to the content they need, as well as a team of supporters and coaches that will ensure progress.

“With GRO, we have updated and enhanced our content, but have kept CED’s special sauce- namely getting to meet and speak with experts and experienced entrepreneurs who have ‘been there/done that’ and who could become your key business contacts for life,” Bigelow says.
