RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Lea(R)n, creator of the award-winning online resource for educators, LearnTrials, has been named a finalist in the fourth annual LAUNCHedu startup competition on March 9-12 during the SXSWedu Conference and Festival in Austin, Texas.
LAUNCHedu serves as a platform for early-stage startups to compete as they showcase and exhibit new products and services in the education space.
Lea(R)n President and CEO Karl Rectanus said this is a great opportunity to share LearnTrials with the global education community and continue helping educators find the best edtech solutions for their schools and classrooms.

This year’s 10 finalists were selected from more than 100 applications from around the world through an extensive review process by the LAUNCHedu Advisory Board. The finalists represent a wide range of products and services that drive the increasingly international scope of educational technology. In additional to Lea(R)n, the 2015 LAUNCHedu finalists are: Binder (New York, N.Y.), Chalk.com (Ontario, Canada), CodeMonkey Studios (Tel Aviv, Israel), Ideas Box (Paris, France), Language Zen (Stamford, Conn.), Pear Deck (Iowa City, Iowa), Raise.me (San Francisco, Calif.), Sterio.me (Santiago, Chile), and Zaption (San Francisco).

The Silicon Valley Education Foundation, the State of North Carolina, Harrington Park, N.J., and Exploris Charter School are just a few examples of the many public and private schools and districts improving efficiency and decisions with Lea(R)n.
After launching in 2014, the company was one of 11 companies in the Kaplan Techstars Accelerator and was named the North Carolina Technology Association’s 2014 Company of the Year in Education.
