Lea(R)n is grabbing national headlines and accolades for its software that helps teachers search, vet and rank technology for the classroom. According to an AngelList post, it needs a user experience/interface designer to join the growing development team in Raleigh.
Cosmic Cart
Cosmic Cart, co-founded by a pair of grads from UNC and NC State and a Charlotte native, is building out a design and development team in Durham to continue work on its universal shopping cart, which has grabbed the attention of Target and American Apparel. The New York City-headquartered startup makes it easy for people to buy products from any website or publication without switching sites or shopping carts. Ansible
Ansible has nine positions open in Durham to help achieve its mission of making software easier to deploy for anyone. On the business side, there’s a staff accountant, marketing coordinator and a couple sales positions open. On the technology side, a user experience designer, automation engineer and software developer are needed. The company is growing fast in Durham after raising money from Silicon Valley and earning headlines in the Wall Street Journal and TechCrunch in 2013.
TransLoc
TransLoc is revolutionizing the way public transportation happens by bringing big data to bus routes. Though the company has nearly quadrupled its customers in recent years, sales continues to be a big focus. An inside sales position is open now, and the perks are unique—a free bus pass, a bonus for taking time off and a continuing education stipend. Freedom uses software to prevent our technology from distracting us all day long, and it needs a larger development team to get the product to a full launch. An AngelList post for a senior software engineer, front-end developer, mobile developer and intern says “expect autonomy, serious learning and a lot of hard work” as well as the chance to work with an experienced technical team. CellBreaker

ndustrial has a unique way of finding staffers for its newly relaunched startup helping industry monitor its energy saving systems and devices. Bandwidth’s Global Hackathon
Bandwidth normally holds hackathons within its Republic Wireless team to promote product development and innovation, but this time, it’s going global. In partnership with TADHack, Raleigh-based Bandwidth is sponsoring a two-day event at its headquarters for developers to bring to life new ideas in communications technology and using platforms and APIs provided by the firm and other sponsors. It’s happening at the same time as events in Chicago, London, Dublin, Madrid, New Delhi and Melbourne and prizes are involved. Though it’s not clear this is a talent recruitment event, jobs are open at the firm and Bandwidth will clearly have bunches of local developers within its walls showing their skills.
