More than 90 entrepreneurial companies, from emerging startups to those who have secured investors, have been selected by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development to present at its annual venture capital conference.
New this year for the themed #TheNext event is a “lightning round” during which 13 startups have the opportunity to make brief pitches to investors.
The CED says it added the feature due in part to a record number of applications from across the state.

“Groundbreaking entrepreneurs are founding and scaling cutting-edge technology companies here in North Carolina, and the annual CED Tech Venture Conference provides a platform to spotlight these companies in front of an audience of investors and tech visionaries from across the U.S.,” said CED CEO Joan Siefert Rose. “From pitches on the main stage to one-on-one networking in the Demo Room, this conference provides unparalleled exposure for North Carolina companies and further positions our ecosystem as a top hub for entrepreneurship.”
CED Tech Venture is set for Sept. 13-14 in Raleigh.
