We’re excited to share that WRAL TechWire is relaunching today with a mobile-first design and free access to thousands of articles.

The new site will continue its 15-year tradition of being an insider’s guide to the booming tech scene from startups to enterprises across the Triangle and North Carolina. The site will also continue to feature local visionaries and emerging leaders and keep a finger on the pulse of tech developments across the state.

Here’s a summary of the WRAL TechWire updates:

New website

  • To best tell the Triangle’s stories of innovation and entrepreneurship, we’re dropping the paywall on the new site and increasing the accessibility of our content. This will enable local tech content to be read, watched and shared widely.
  • The redesigned site uses a mobile-first design to provide an optimal user experience across devices.
  • Additional website features include simplified navigation, a calendar of local tech events, a content submission form for contributors and refreshed branding.

Content

  • WRAL TechWire Editor Rick Smith will continue to lead our coverage and offer his insights and analysis.
  • Allan Maurer, like Smith a co-founder of TechWire in 2002, also is an important part of the team as both a reporter and editor.
  • The new site has all 50,000 articles posted since TechWire first launched in 2002, plus more than 3,000 stories on the startup community from our sister publication, ExitEvent.
  • We have expanded coverage of North Carolina’s growing startup ecosystem with additional writers and resources.
  • We are working in partnership with American Underground to maximize reach for WRAL TechWire, Big Top (recruiting & career management community with startup focus) and the ExitEvent Startup Socials series.

Stay tuned!

Thank you for your continued support,
The WRAL TechWire Team
