RALEIGH – 2017 is coming to a very busy close for HQ Community, which operates shared office spaces or partners with other firms to offer services in other Charlotte and Wilmington.

Its HQ Raleigh has recently opened HQ Glenwood, which is a joint effort by Centerline Digital and HQ Community “to co-create a diverse community of high-impact, high-growth enterprises as well as create a creative work environment for independent designers and creative entrepreneurs.”

Centerline’s offices, located at 509 W. North Street, cover 31,000 square feet.

Earlier this year, HQ Raleigh opened new Capital Club space downtown.

Greensboro news

Kaitlin Smith is the new executive director at HQ Greensboro. She previously had served as marketing and communications manager at ArtsGreensboro, a nonprofit organization. Smith had worked in that role since 2013.

Also, HQ Greensboro is launching a “Tech Lab for Entrepreneurs.”

NorthState

NorthState, a communications technology and service provider based in the Triad, is supporting the lab.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for technology entrepreneurs in our area to equip themselves with the business skills needed to be successful for the long-term,” NorthState  Chief Executive Officer Royster Tucker III said. “However, this program is not for the casual entrepreneur. Throughout the stages of the program, participants will be expected to leverage the technological tools and knowledge provided by NorthState and HQ Greensboro to demonstrate ongoing growth of their businesses.”

The lab will offer eight week programs and will accommodate five entrepreneurial companies. The first program begins in January.

“Tech Lab includes dedicated 24/7 work space and full membership benefits at HQ Greensboro, educational workshops and coaching to better equip the start-up with business skills to grow beyond the launch phase and become successful,” according to the partners.

The new initiative was developed in collaboration with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce’s Launch Greensboro as an extension to its 11-week LaunchLab Growth Series, the partners note.

There is no charge to the participants.
