Savii Inc., formerly Akili Software, has nabbed $402,523 of a nearly $600,000 round for its home care management software and mobile app, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The company has raised about $2 million since 2016.

Thirteen investors contributed.

The company won an NC IDEA grant in 2015 and was one of six companies selected for the Soar Triangle deep mentorship program for female-led startups. Michelle Harper and Jana Barile c0-founded Savii.

Following interviews and focus groups with more than 70 home health professionals, the pair found provideers wanted a system designed around workflow rather than tasks. Both providers and the organizations they worked for desired a simple, efficient way to securely transfer client data and perform business administration tasks like billing and filing insurance claims.

Harper and Barile designed the web-based software solution—Savii Care. They simultaneously developed an accompanying app. The app connects in real-time to the software, allowing providers to upload their client data, and administrators to immediately view it. Providers can also dictate their chart notes, automatically clock in and out using GPS when they arrive at their client’s home, and track all their tasks.
