Electronic health records company Allscripts, which has offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, was hit by a ransomware attack Thursday, according to several media outlets.

“We are working diligently to restore these systems, and most importantly, to ensure our clients’ data is protected,” company spokeswoman Concetta Rasiarmos said in an email. “Although our investigation is ongoing, there is currently no evidence that any data has been removed from our systems. We regret any inconvenience caused by this temporary outage.”

There was no word on what applications were affected by the attack, but several customers noted on Twitter that they couldn’t access Allscripts’ e-prescribing applications.
