RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – IBM Chair and CEO Ginni Rometty declared a new law such as Moore’s Law for tech at a conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday: “Watson’s Law.”

That law plays off Watson, IBM’s artificial intelligence creation.

“Now comes Watson’s Law: The convergence of data and artificial intelligence” Rometty declared as IBM unveiled a host of new Watson possibilities and other updates in IBM science. Here’s a video of her keynote address as posted by ExpovistaTV:

Moore’s Law refers to the observation that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit doubles approximately every two years, notes Wikipedia.

In her rebuilding of IBM, which includes more reliance on analytics, artificial intelligence and the cloud, Rometty told the conference:

“We reinvented IBM for this era of data,”

IBM employs several thousand people at its campus in Research Triangle Park and across North Carolina.
