Application Deadline: Creative Startups Accelerator
June 3

This eight-week online accelerator offers a comprehensive curriculum of training for creative startups. The program culminates in a five-day “Deep Dive” week, featuring introductions to 30 industry experts as mentors and investors, an interactive demo night and a final pitch competition with a $50,000 split prize.

TOP TEN Microsoft Hands-On Sessions: Skype
June 4, 6-8 p.m. @Wake Tech Northern Wake Campus

The Wake Tech Center for Entrepreneurship is launching a series of workshops to teach local business owners how to master essential tech tools. This track focuses on Microsoft’s app suite, with monthly workshops detailing Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype and OneNote. June’s workshop continues the series with a lesson covering Skype.

9th Annual NCTech4Good Conference
June 5-6 @The Solution Center in Durham

Nonprofit professionals, businesses and volunteers are invited to join the NCTech4Good conference to collaborate, innovate and explore ways to use technology to advance the mission of nonprofit organizations.

Medical, Biomedical & Biodefense: Support to the Warfighter Symposium
June 5-6 @Friday Center at UNC Chapel Hill

This event, co-presented by NC Biotechnology Center and NC Military Business Center, is designed to connect North Carolina tech companies to the federal agencies that purchase medical devices, equipment or services.

1 Million Cups CLT
June 6, 8:30-10 a.m.

Held on the first Wednesday of every month, 1 Million Cups Charlotte features a presentation from a local startup followed by a Q&A from the community. Free coffee is included.

2018 Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Summit
June 6-9 @Charlotte Convention Center

This three-day business event is tailored to both established business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. Confirmed speakers include Mark Cuban, Don Peebles, Byron Allen, Troy Taylor, Janice Bryant Howroyd and more global innovation leaders.

LaunchBio Larger Than Life Science: One Health
June 7, 4-7 p.m. @The Chesterfield

Meet local VCs, get tips on growing your company and network with fellow members of the life science community at the Larger Than Life Science events series, presented by LaunchBio. This monthly event will feature a selection of workshops, speaking sessions, meetings with investors, panel talks, office hours and group activities. Entrance is free-of-charge.

Venture Café Thursday Gathering

In this monthly networking event, participants can meet and connect with other entrepreneurs and companies in the science and technology space.

Charlotte PitchBreakfast
June 13, 8-11 a.m. @The Garage at Packard Place

A handful of Queen City-based companies will headline June’s Charlotte PitchBreakfast, presenting their products and services for a total of five minutes, after which they will answer questions from the audience and a panel of experts. The goal of PitchBreakfast is to give startups a comfortable environment to test out pitches they can later present to investors.

SBIR Road Tour Visits Durham
June 21-22

The SBIR Road Tour, a national outreach initiative from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, is coming to Durham on June 22. Local entrepreneurs are invited to learn firsthand about the largest seed fund in the United States. On June 21, the NC Small Business Technology Development Center is hosting a SBIR proposal training session before the event.

RIoT XXVI – Intersection of IoT & DoD
June 25, 1-7 p.m. @Boro Station Conference Center (Tysons, VA)

RIoT, in partnership with M.C. Dean, is presenting a one-day workshop to educate the audience about the latest advancements in IoT. Topics to be covered include how blockchain applies to DoD, the evolution of cybersecurity, how IoT improves asset management, and more.
