RALEIGH – Beer, Ping Pong and good ole fashioned networking took center stage when Big Top hosted its monthly Startup Crawl at Pendo’s swank new office in downtown Raleigh on Monday night.

As the sun set over the city, about 100 people gathered in Pendo’s break room on the fourth floor of the Wells Fargo building to enjoy the sweeping views.

With Bull Durham Beer and wine on tap, the atmosphere was genial and informal as investors and local talent from the Triangle’s startup community mingled and practiced their swing at table tennis in the corner. The event also included guest presentations from startups currently participating in RIoT’s accelerator program.

“Big Top is here to make it easier for people locally and out of market to connect to the Triangle startup community,” said Molly Demarest, who heads up the organization. “That could include jobs, events, career development, or just staying in the know and learning about opportunities to plug-in.”

Formerly known as the Triangle Startup Social, Big Top recently rebranded the event as part of its new mission under American Underground. The group is owned by WRAL TechWire parent company, Capitol Broadcasting, which acquired the local startup last year.

This time around, it came to Pendo. Founded in 2013, the startup is on a mission to help companies measure and elevate customer experience through analytics, in-application user feedback and contextual guidance. The company recently moved into its new office space earlier this year.
