1 Million Cups CLT
August 1, 8:30-10 a.m.

Held every month, 1 Million Cups Charlotte features a presentation from a local startup followed by a Q&A from the community. Free coffee is included.

NC IDEA Summer School Series: Fundraising Strategy with John Austin
August 1, 12-1 p.m. @Momentum Learning in Durham

The NC IDEA Foundation is hosting a summer-long series of lunch and learns for the entrepreneurial community every Wednesday. In this session, NC IDEA Senior Director John Austin will offer the audience insights on planning for fundraising.

LaunchBio Larger Than Life Science
August 2, 4-7 p.m. @The Chesterfield

Meet local VCs, get tips on growing your company and network with fellow members of the life science community at the Larger Than Life Science events series, presented by LaunchBio. This monthly event will feature a selection of workshops, speaking sessions, meetings with investors, panel talks, office hours and group activities. Entrance is free-of-charge.

TechGirlz Workshop: Intro to Encryption—How to Protect Your Information
August 2, 5-8 p.m. @Varonis in Morrisville

This interactive workshop will show students how to crack encrypted code. Participants are asked to bring a laptop and charger. Dinner will be served.

Every month, a handful of Queen City-based companies headline Charlotte PitchBreakfast, pitching their products and services for a total of five minutes, after which they will answer questions from the audience and a panel of entrepreneurs and experts.

NC IDEA Summer School Series: Design Sprint Essentials

At this hands-on workshop, Voltage Control President Douglas Ferguson will demonstrate the five stages of the Design Sprint process and show entrepreneurs how they can implement them. This event is part of NC IDEA’s summer-long lunch & learn series for local startups.
