DURHAMMATI, the energy beverage startup launched by Tatiana Birgisson, has turned to two executives with experience in the beverage industry for two of its senior positions as the firm gears up for expansion and nears a close on new capital.

“MATI has an incredibly bright future,” said MATI Chairman Rob Soni.  “We will soon be announcing new product innovation, geographic expansion and the successful closing of additional growth capital.  The board is thrilled to have Eric and Mark leading this next phase of growth.  We know that consumers love MATI and with the new team, we are truly positioned for explosive growth.”

Eric Masters, who worked 10 years at The Coca-Cola Company, is the new CEO.

Mark Mullins, who served as vice president of sales and was co-founder of Social House Vodka, joins MATI as vice president of sales.

“MATI has created an incredible brand with tremendous success in our core markets,” Masters said in a statement.

“Moving forward, we know that consumers nationwide want natural and healthy ways to fuel their body and their mind.  The opportunity for growth in the US and abroad is tremendous.”

Birgisson’s tenure as CEO of the firm she launched while a student at Duke University ended in January.
