RALEIGH – Sysdig, a startup focusing on cloud computing technology which recently opened its second headquarters in Raleigh, is gearing up for more growth with $68.5 million in new funding.

The round, which CEO Suresh Vasudevan tells WRAL TechWire was oversubscribed, means more growth for its operations in Raleigh.

“We have the foundation for further growth and Raleigh is a big part of that growth,” Vasudevan says.

Two of those teams, customer success and sales, are based in Raleigh. We have a careers page on our website, which includes a list of the positions we are hiring for.”

Sysdig, which is based in San Francisco, launched in 2013.

The company’s expertise in the cloud focuses on security and monitoring of containers, an increasingly important part of data operations. And its technology’s development has led to partnerships with such cloud leaders as IBM, Red Hat and Google.

Sysdog defintes itself as the “cloud intelligence company.”

The new funding more than doubled Sysdig’s capital-raising to more than $120 million.

Revenue has tripled over the last 12 months, according to a spokesperson for the company.

“Enterprises are adopting cloud-native technology for its speed of development, multi-cloud scaling capabilities, and lower total cost of ownership,” Vasudevan said in the funding announcement.

“But, they are hitting roadblocks with old school security and monitoring products. To be successful, these organizations need new solutions that are cloud-native. Sysdig has emerged as the only solution that delivers enterprises the complete set of capabilities needed to protect an environment, ensure that it is running smoothly, and meet compliance requirements. Sysdig delivers it all, both in the cloud and on-premise, in order to grow with companies as they undertake this journey.”

Insight Venture Partners led the new financing along with previous investors, Bain Capital Ventures and Accel.
