DURHAM — Principled Technologies Inc., a marketing and testing company based in Durham, has acquired its Colorado competitor Demartek LLC for an undisclosed amount, the companies announced.

Under the agreement, Demartek will be fully integrated into Principled Technologies. It’s currently unclear how many of Demartek’s employees will move to the Triangle area. However, the companies stated that the future pricing strategy of Demartek will match the historical pricing for Principled Technologies products.

Principled Technologies

Demartek was founded by current President Dennis Martin. It serves as a computer industry analyst organization with a computer test lab based in Golden, Colorado.

The working scope of Demartek includes running hardware or software solutions for the purpose of validation testing, performance testing, power efficiency or other types of testing.

Principled Technologies was founded in 2003. It provides fact-based marketing services and technology assessment to companies that produce technology products or companies that use those products.

Mark Van Name, the co-founder and co-owner of Principled Technologies, was thrilled about bringing Demartek on board.

“The deep expertise and industry experience of Dennis Martin and his team will help further our mission to do the best possible work for our clients,” Name said in the statement.

Dennis Martin, founder and president of Demartek, also thought that this acquisition would provide Demartek with better support.

“This is a natural step forward for the Demartek team and a winning combination for our clients,” Martin said in the statement. “PT’s larger scale and technical and creative teams will provide a stronger base on which to provide excellent lab validation testing results.”
