DURHAM –  With new brokerages entering the market and as Internet-buyers also launching operations in local communities across the country, the way that homes are being sold is changing.  This challenges the traditional brokerage model, and Adwerx is gearing up to help its clients deal with the changes.

The fast-growing Durham startups which works with real estate agents recently promoted two executives to help position itself for a rapidly evolving market. Adwerx aims to revolutionize digital advertising and serves individuals, small businesses, and enterprises across the country with real estate a key area of emphasis.

Jay Hall

Jay Hall has been promoted to chief revenue officer and West Hubbard was named vice president of enterprise and business development from the position of director of business development.

Hall led the Adwerx Enterprise program as the vice president of business development starting with his hire in 2017.  His efforts helped the company shift and change the way that real estate brokerages and their agents think about and use digital advertising, Adwerx says.

“As Adwerx has evolved as a platform, we’ve identified an opportunity to serve the needs of a variety of companies that desire consistent branding combined with the ability to build automated ads,”  said Jed Carlson, CEO of Adwerx. “Jay is an incredible asset for us and will continue to guide the company as we expand Adwerx Enterprise.”

State of the real estate market

The changes come as emerging competitors aim to change how people buy and sell homes, putting pressure on tradational Realtors.

“There is a lot of disruption happening in the real estate industry today,” said Kelly Parisi, the senior corporate communications manager at Adwerx.  “The advancement of technological innovation in the industry is changing every day, requiring agents to adapt and learn new ways to market their listings and attract clientele.

“One of the most prominent is the instant offer, which connects a potential seller with a cash offer from an investor.”

Knock, Opendoor, Zillow, and Ribbon all launched operations in the Triangle in 2018, each with a different approach to reaching the same goal: disrupting the traditional real estate transaction.

It can be challenging for an agent to keep up with the latest digital trends,” said Parisi.  The program Hall led, the Adwerx Enterprise Automated Listings Program, attempts to help brokerages provide their agents with a service to market their listings online, regardless of an agent’s digital experience and skill.

Adwerx

Adwerx Enterprise handles the online marketing of a property for them, using cutting-edge automation to deliver consistent results.  When the agent loads the property into the multiple listing service (MLS), the ads automatically launch and are targeted to be shown to potential home buyers on the apps, websites, and social media platforms they use every day.  These services are being requested by many of the industry’s top firms, as well as local brokerages across the country, said Parisi.

Launching in the summer of 2017, the enterprise program has seen widespread adoption across the residential real estate industry, said Parisi. Adwerx is now integrated with more than 85 regional and national brokerages and serves more than 150,000 individual real estate agents that have benefited from an automated listing ad.

Adwerx clients have received more than 16.3 billion ad impressions increasing their visibility and driving web traffic to company websites and to real estate listings, the company said in a statement.

Adwerx was again this year named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s Fastest Growing Companies, the second consecutive year receiving that designation.

Bolstered by their growth, Adwerx plans to expand.  The company recently expanded their footprint at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham to accommodate the rapid growth.  The company is currently hiring for full and contract positions across enterprise sales, graphic design, and development.
