RALEIGH – Employers across North Carolina are still looking to fill thousands of open information technology jobs, according to a new report.

Open, advertised positions numbered 25,798 in November, according to the latest Tech Talent Trends Alert from the NC Technology Association. That’s up nearly 37 percent year-over-year.

The total is down slightly from October’s yearly high of 27,110 but is the second highest for the year. The previous high was 25,752 in September.

In December of 2017, open jobs were far less at just over 18,000.

“Although a slight dip from the previous month, November had the second highest openings of the past twelve months, and were higher than November of last year,” said Brooks Raiford, President & CEO of NC TECH, in a statement.  “All of the top ten occupations saw double-digit increases over the same period last year, and all but one metro area were up,” he added.
