WILMINGTON – SportGait Inc., a Wilmington-based concussion management company, has raised $1,470,000 of an equity round aimed at $2 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company raised $1,040,000 in July 2018 and $205,000 in 2017. According to the filing, 20 investors contributed to the current funding.

The company, which is an entity of LifeGait, provides tools and resources to identify, track and monitor concussion-related symptoms.

For parents and teams, it offers SportGait Mobile. Created around the CDC Heads Up symptom checker, SportGait Mobile is a free IOS and Android app used to check on field symptoms and to help locate the nearest appropriate medical facility any time a head injury is suspected.

Through SportGait’s applications, coaches and parents can determine if an athlete’s head injuries warrant a visit to the doctor or emergency room.

The company, incorporated in 2015, is located in the University of North Carolina Wilmington Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
