MOORESVILLE — BestCo LLC, a developer and manufacturer of consumer health care products, decided to expand its manufacturing center in Iredell County, according to the N.C. Department of Commerce.

The company announced it would invest $47.5 million by expanding its manufacturing center in Mooresville and create 141 new jobs.

The state will reimburse BestCo’s investment with a grant of up to $150,000 if the company meets its job creation and capital investment targets.

BestCo’s Chief Operating Officer Tim Condron said that the company’s expansion in Mooresville would be supported by the grant provided.

“We are blessed to be part of a community and a state that values and invests in fast growing businesses,” Condron said in a statement. “We have been in the community and creating jobs for over 30 years and this is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter for BestCo.”

Gov. Roy Cooper said that BestCo’s decision also underscored the strength of local community.

“Employers that know North Carolina know we have the talent, infrastructure and businesses climate they need to thrive,” Cooper said.

New employees’ salaries at BestCo will vary by position, averaging above Person County’s current average salary of $47,345. The total payroll impact is expected to be $6.8 million.

Founded in 1976, BestCo is currently based in Mooresville, North Carolina. It develops and manufactures consumer health care products, including over-the-counter drug products and dietary supplements.
