The North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH) is hitting the road next week on its annual tour across North Carolina, stopping at innovation hubs across the state.
The ‘NC Tech Tour’ kicks off on June 10 in Asheville, then moving to Charlotte, the Triad, the Triangle, and closing in Wilmington on June 14. Along the way, NC TECH will be hosting several networking events, panel discussions and tours of local companies.

NC TECH’s signature Tech Tour series first started in September 2013, in timing with the organization’s 20th anniversary, as a way to connect face-to-face with leaders in startup communities spanning North Carolina.
Here’s a preview of the stops along the tour:
Asheville: June 10
Tech Talk Live, 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Highland Brewing Company – A climate change-focused fireside chat with Josh Dorfman, the CEO of The Collider.
Brews + Bytes, 5-7 p.m. @Highland Brewing Company
Charlotte: June 11
Tech Talk Live, 9-10:30 a.m. @WeWork – A panel discussion will cover cybersecurity metrics and how to make sense of them. Speakers include CenturyLink Principle Security Architect James LeMond and RapidCat CIO Michael Curnow.
Visit to Credit Karma 2-2:45 p.m. @Credit Karma – NC TECH members are invited to take a tour of Credit Karma’s Ballantyne office and meet some of the company’s leaders.

Triad: June 12
Tech Talk Live, 3-4:30 p.m. @Wake Forest Biotech Place – A panel discussion will cover the IT sector’s digital transformation, with Silver Tree Consulting VP of Technology Modernization Cliff Strickland. (More panelists to be announced.)
Brews + Bytes, 5:30-7 p.m. @Harris and Hutch Pub
Triangle: June 13
Tech Talk Live, 9-10:30 a.m. @WeWork Raleigh – A panel discussion about engaging military and former military personnel in the tech workforce, with Western Governors University NC Chancellor Catherine Truitt, NC IT Department Director of Enterprise Applications Carrie Hasbrouck, MetLife SVP of Global Technology Services Binu Thomas and North Carolina Military Foundation Director Stuart Ruffin.
Visit to Avalara, 2-3:15 p.m. @Avalara – NC TECH will take a tour of Avalara’s east coast office in Durham. This session is a stop on NC TECH’s bus tour around the Triangle, held June 13 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Attendees can hop on the bus for $30 per individual. (More stops to be announced.)

Wilmington: June 14
Tech Talk Live, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. @tekMountain – A cybersecurity-focused panel with local experts in the field—Infranet Senior Security Specialist Richard Hayes and Castle Branch IT Director Daniel Staples.
