CARY- Deutsche Bank is going to cut up to 51 jobs at its software development and technology center in Cary.

The bank filed a so-called WARN layoff notice with the North Carolina Department of Commerce saying that the layoffs would occur in August.

However, Deutsche Bank said that the facility, which employs some 900 people, is not being closed.

A company spokesperson declined to comment on the layoffs.

The Cary operation is called the Deutsche Bank Global Technology Center where emphasis is on software and application development.

Over the weekend bank executives said they would be cutting some 18,000 jobs across the company.

The notice was signed by Robert Dibble, a managing director with the bank.

With Cary jobs picture still unclear, Deutsche Bank makes last-ditch effort to save itself
