RALEIGH – High tech job openings across North Carolina fell for the fourth consecutive month in July, says a new report from the N.C. Technology Association.

Jobs advertised publicly slipped to 26,604. That’s the lowest monthly total reported this year, the Tech Talent Trends Alert show.

Openings hit a high of nearly 33,000 in March before falling in April, May and June.

The recent low came in December when fewer than 26,000 jobs were listed.

On a positive note, openings are up more than 2,000 or some 10 percent year-over-year.

Software developers remain in high demand across NC, report shows

“North Carolina IT job openings were higher in July than the same month last year, outpacing the US rate for that same comparison period,” said Brooks Raiford, president and CEO of the business trade group. “However, job openings have declined the past several months, both in NC and nationally, perhaps reflecting caution from employers who are concerned about recessionary signals.”

Job openings across the US are down 6 percent.
