RALEIGHmarGo – an internet-based service company (SaaS) dedicated to automating “tedious tasks” for sales professionals – has raised $1.5 million in equity.

The money came from one single investor, according to the recent SEC filing.

The round is capped at $3 million, with $1.5 million remaining to be sold.

The filing did not disclose how the funds would be used.

marGo is a “multi-tenant, multi-channel marketing system that automates customer engagement within the direct sales industry,” its creator Nathanael Brubaker wrote on his LinkedIn page.

Brubaker cofounded the Raleigh-based company with Dean Yellets, a 20-year veteran of Hewlett-Packard Company and former director of Worldwide Negotiations.

marGo is also headed by another Hewlett-Packard alum Michael Rose, who once served as Packard’s chief information officer and now acts as marGo’s executive chairman.
