DURHAM – Robotic pharmacy tech firm Parata Systems is expanding its footprint – both in the Triangle and in Wisconsin.

The Durham-based firm said it recently begun construction to expand its headquarters by an additional 30,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space.

It is expected to be complete by February 2020.

It is unclear how many additional jobs – if any – this expansion will create. Repeated calls to the company to find out more went unanswered.

In Wisconsin, the firm is in the process of consolidating its current two facilities into one centrally located space in Pleasant Prairie.

“Our innovative workflow solutions power pharmacies to help people lead healthier lives,” Rob Kill, Parata CEO, said in a statement. “These investments in our facilities and in our team members create two complementary Centers of Excellence that will enhance our ability to support our valued pharmacy customers.”

Founded in 2001, Parata and TCGRx, a leading supplier of pharmacy automation equipment, merged to form Parata Systems in 2018. The company offers a pharmacy automation portfolio with pouch and blister medication adherence packaging, high-speed automated robotic dispensing technologies, and pharmacy workflow solutions.
