CHAPEL HILL – Edtech startup Terra Dotta has a new CEO – veteran Anthony Rotoli. He replaces company cofounder Brandon Lee, who moves into the chairman’s role. In an exclusive Q&A, Rotoli talks about why he took the job and the company’s future.

  • Congrats, Anthony. How did you hear about this job?

Thank you. Mutual connections through the RTP network brought us together for this great opportunity.

  • Why did you decide to take it?

I’ve been in the higher ed tech space for nearly 20 years and really enjoy working with growing companies. Terra Dotta’s mission of helping higher ed institutions protect their greatest assets – students and faculty – while traveling, as well as fostering global campuses, is something near and dear to me.

  • How will your skillset be helpful in growing the company?

I’ve helped build and scale a number of higher ed tech companies so that background combined with process efficiency expertise will be helpful for scaling and accelerating Terra Dotta’s growth.

  • What are your top priorities?

As I begin my journey with Terra Dotta, my focus will be on accelerating Terra Dotta’s vision – to deliver a comprehensive set of higher ed travel, study abroad, international program management and agreements management solutions to more institutions across the globe. To make this priority a reality, we’ll be looking to invest in people, growth and efficiency.
