CHAPEL HILL – Brandon Lee, the founder and CEO of edtech startup Terra Dotta, announced his move into the role as chairman of the company on Wednesday. So why make the move? He explains in this Q&A and talks about his successor.

  • Brandon, welcome to the chair’s seat. What are the reasons for doing this?

I am extremely proud of the Terra Dotta team and all that we have accomplished together in recent years, which is evidenced by the increased number of customers, products, partners, and employees.

As part of our growth plans, we have recruited experienced executives to help accelerate our growth and are now operating at an entirely new level. There is much more opportunity ahead, and to make it a reality, there is a need for further evolution.

  • What are your plans for the new role?

I am looking forward to being able to focus on external and strategic issues that impact our company and valued employees, as well as our higher education clients and their thousands of students and faculty/staff members.
