CHARLOTTE – Premier Inc., a healthcare improvement company, has announced the addition of Virginia Commonwealth University Health System to its network.

VCU Health is a Level I trauma center verified in adult, pediatric and burn trauma care located in Richmond, Va.

Premier said VCU Health will have access to its supply chain services, including its group purchasing organization and advanced analytics.

“We look forward to partnering with VCU Health to further strengthen their approach to consistently attaining top level performance,” Michael J. Alkir, president of Premier, said in a press release Monday.

The financial impact of the agreement was not disclosed.

Premier offers pharmacy integration and technology designed for value-based care to more than 4,000 hospitals and health systems.

Shares of Premier were trading at $37.57 Thursday, up 28 cents.
