CHARLOTTE – After 20 years, Frontier Capital is now known as Frontier Growth.

The equity investment firm disclosed its new name this week saying it “reinforces Frontier’s focus on their approach to growth—one that puts people before numbers.”

Frontier focuses on investments in software firms.

“When we started the firm in 1999, offering growth-stage businesses access to capital was unique,” said co-founder Richard Maclean. “Today, it’s table-stakes. Our partners expect much more. They expect us to roll up our sleeves and help with key growth initiatives. They are also seeking more collaborative and transparent relationships for their next stage of growth.”

Frontier targets firms that have revenues between $8 million and $25 million. The company will invest money and also deploy what it calls “operational expertise.”
