GREENSBORO – Proficient Health, which merged with Raleigh-based MD Interconnect last year, is raising $3 million in new equity. And investors are responding.

In an SEC filing, the Greensboro-based information technology focusing on healthcare data said it has raised $2.6 million with 31 investors participating.

The company is looking to raise $3 million in equity. Minimum investment is $25,000.

The form was signed by company president Robb Hutchinson.

Proficient and MD Interconnect merged in July 2019. MD Interconnect had focused on secure mobile communication technology for use by healthcare providers.

“MD Interconnect is a great fit for us,” Hutchison said at the time. “We both focus on secure referral management and other web-based solutions that eliminate the technology barriers created by incompatible devices, systems and networks – linking people and practices securely across any inpatient or outpatient setting. And with MD Interconnect’s mobility experience, we now have the opportunity to offer an expanded set of capabilities to both our new and existing customers.”
