RALEIGH – Todd Olson, CEO of fast-growing software firm Pendo, says the firm is going to continue hiring despite the global economic impact of the corona virus.

“It’s become abundantly clear to me that if we’re going to achieve our company’s mission to improve the world’s software experiences, then we need to double down on our investment in Pendo’s most valuable asset—our employees,” Olson wrote.

“That’s why I told the Pendo team that we’re going to continue hiring, especially in the area of product innovation, during this period of economic uncertainty.”

Olson pointed out particular hiring needs and pointed interested applicants to Pendo’s careers page.

“We’re looking to add almost 30 product and engineering roles,” he noted.

“We’re especially looking for senior and staff level software engineering talent, for both back and front end engineering roles.”

Olson also praised his firm’s employees who have moved to working remotely as the virus continues to spread.

“On a positive note, it’s been nice to see some of our customers experience surging usage, due to secondary effects of global events, and our employees have already proven to me that we can keep up with those demands while working remotely,” he explained.

Olson said he wants Pendo positioned to capitalize on opportunities as they develop.

“Our goal with this new hiring effort is to add more people for product innovation so we’re in a position to hit the ground running when the economy picks up again,” he said.

“We believe people with diverse backgrounds and fresh perspectives help improve our products, which is why we’ll continue to emphasize the need to bring a diverse slate of candidates to hiring managers. ”

Pendo raised $100 million last fall and has plans to move into a new headquarters in Raleigh.

Overall, Olson remained positive.

“There are a lot of open questions about how the pandemic will shape the economy in the months to come,” he concluded, “but we’re confident that if we continue investing in the best people now, we’ll be in a position to keep the momentum going for years to come.”
