Today, we’re launching a new weekly column that summarizes local startup news coverage over the past week. Digests will be published on Mondays, together with our “TechWire Rewind” series.

The biggest news from last week: 16 early-stage startups won $160,000 in grants for NC IDEA’s MICRO program; eight energy startups were accepted into the NC Cleantech Corridor accelerator program; two Raleigh-based agtech startups were accepted into the AgTech Innovation Competition; a Raleigh startup backed by high-profile angel investors offers one-on-one career advice; two teenage brothers in Raleigh launched a line of facemasks; Nextdoor acquired a Raleigh-founded software startup.
