Thursday | May 14:

In search for cash, startups find lifelines through crowdfunding, kickstarter

  • CrowdfundNC has launched the COVID-19 Revenue Share, with the aim of empowering North Carolina’s communities to invest in their local mom-and-pop shops during this pandemic.

NC IDEA picks six startups from across the state for $50,000 grants

  • NC IDEA today announced the selection of six NC IDEA SEED grant recipients, awarding a total of $300,000 to six startups across the state of North Carolina.   We’ve got the details.

NC startups running out of cash? If not now, maybe later as pandemic drags on

  • Revenue is challenged, cash reserves are dwindling; and more layoffs are just around the corner. This is the bleak picture being painted for startups around the country, but in North Carolina, the view on the ground, at least at this moment, is more nuanced.

Friday | May 15:

21 life science & fintech startups to close out 3-part Venture Connect Online program

  • Marking the final installment of Venture Connect Online, 21 life science and fintech startups will take the virtual stage on May 18 to pitch their innovations. Six companies are part of Charlotte’s Queen City Fintech accelerator. The others are focused on therapeutics, disease prevention and pharmaceutical treatments.
