For four days over four weeks in June and July, ProductCampRTP is hosting a free online “unconference” series covering all aspects of product development.
Events in the series will be held via Zoom from 12-2 p.m. on June 11, June 18, June 25 and July 2. With the “unconference” format, attendees can vote on the speakers and topics they want to be presented. So far, several national and international speakers have submitted abstracts, with more than half located outside of North Carolina.
With the new online delivery format, ProductCampRTP hopes to reach a broader demographic beyond local and regional professionals. The virtual series is geared to a worldwide audience of entrepreneurs, market researchers, product developers and managers, and product marketing and business development professionals.
ProductCamp RTP President Ceferino Gonzalez says that attendees should expect a high-quality agenda featuring topics and speakers about all things product. “We’re continuing our community conversation and networking in a safe, professional environment,” he added.

ProductCampRTP, which has been operating in the Triangle since 2008, is part of the larger international ProductCamp network, which has a presence across the U.S. and around the world, including a chapter in Charlotte. ProductCampRTP hosts two signature events every year in the spring and fall. The 11th annual spring event, originally scheduled for May, had to be postponed due to COVID-19.
Gonzalez says that COVID-19 prompted the organization to act on the alternative delivery formats it had been considering pre-coronavirus. “We have a very dynamic planning team at ProductCampRTP and have been discussing other [means of] delivery/networking for a while now,” Gonzalez said. “COVID-19 quarantine pushed us to innovate now.”
“No doubt we’re in a strange place these days, and it’s hard to escape the hype surrounding COVID-19,” he added. “But we wanted to continue the conversation around all things product.”
ProductCampRTP is expecting more than 150 people on average to tune into the Zoom calls every Thursday.
