Separate from the incubators/coworking spaces referenced in a separate post, we also added these other items to the Triangle Startup Guide:

  • Venture South is now listed on our VC/angel groups section. VentureSouth is an angel investor group based out of Greenville, South Carolina. The network of over 300 investors seeks to fund early-stage companies throughout the Southeast.
  • We updated this page with more COVID-19 funding resources:
    • Durham Recovery Fund: The Carolina Small Business Development Fund is offering loans and grants to Durham-based small businesses impacted by COVID-19:
      • Durham Grant Program (offered by CSBDF in partnership with Duke University): Available to businesses with $500,000 or less in revenue; must have 25 or fewer employees.
      • Durham Loan Program (offered by CSBDF in partnership with the City of Durham): Available to businesses with $500,000 to $2 million in revenue; must have 25 or fewer employees.
    • We added the Lowe’s-LISC Small Business Relief Grants program for businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. The program focuses on historically underserved communities that lack access to capital. (More coverage here.)
    • We also added a link to this post from David Gardner of Cofounders Capital on what entrepreneurs should do when facing high-risk decisions during the pandemic.

As always, if we missed a resource you think should be added, please don’t hesitate to submit it for inclusion. You can email me directly, tweet me @shannoncuthrell or use this contact form.
