RALEIGH — After months of anticipation, a new high-tech shooting range is finally set to open its doors in the Oak City.

The Raleigh OnPoint facility, located at 3501 Spring Forest Road, will open on July 1.

“We’re celebrating the July 4th weekend by opening the best staycation option in The Triangle,” said Houck Reed, OnPoint chief executive officer.

The center is designed to be social, family friendly and all about the “sport of shooting” with its own proprietary gamification technology.

Among the offerings: auto-scoring targets, immersive audio guidance with electronic headsets and its own mobile app.

“We identified a need, and are leveraging lots of different technologies to create a user experience that is essentially second to none,” Reed added.

A monthly plan of $60 includes unlimited range use, priority reservations and access to discounted subscription services.

Members can begin reserving lanes June 29 for access to the live-fire ranges starting July 1 at 10am.

OnPoint is implementing appropriate physical distancing requirements and disinfecting processes to help ensure member comfort and safety. Masks will be required and provided as requested.
