RALEIGH — Hitachi ABB Power Grids has appointed Anthony Allard to a number of its top leadership roles in North America.

Today, the Switzerland-based firm, with an US headquarters in Raleigh, has tapped the seasoned exec as executive vice president, country managing director, USA and head of Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ business in North America.

Allard was most recently chief operating officer of BECIS, an energy solution provider in Singapore. He’s also served as general manager and board member for GE Prolec Transformers in the US.

“Anthony Allard brings extensive experience of managing and transforming businesses in the power sector,” said Claudio Facchin, CEO Hitachi ABB Power Grids, in a statement.

“He will help drive value creation with pioneering and digital technologies for our customers and partners in North America, towards a sustainable energy future.”

Hitachi ABB Power Grids employs around 36,000 people in 90 countries. It serves utility, industry and infrastructure customers, and emerging areas like sustainable mobility, smart cities, energy storage and data centers.
