DURHAM – CandleScience is scaling quickly.
The Durham-based online retailer of candle and soap-making supplies recently signed a lease for a 144,000-square-foot manufacturing headquarter within the Regional Commerce Center at 1247 Person Street in Durham.
The uptick: it’s now planning to add another 40 new positions in the coming months.
“We’re very happy to be able to commit long-term to the Durham community, and keep our business here while increasing our size and capabilities,” said Mike Swimm, co-founder of CandleScience, in a statement. “We owe much of our success to the quality of the workforce in Durham and look forward to being able to offer more quality job opportunities to our community.”
CandleScience expects a move-in date of early to mid-2021. The company has provided tested candle and soap making supplies to DIYers and indie businesses since 2003.
