RALEIGH – Shoppers are getting a chance to browse and buy products offered via Amazon in person rather than online as of today as the internet giant opens a brick-and-mortar location at Crabtree Valley Mall.

One of a relatively few such outlets branded as 4-star, it’s the first one in North Carolina. 4-star refers to product rankings by consumers on purchases made at Amazon.com.

Amazon announced the opening early Thursday after plans emerged in June for the store.

Amazon 4-star

“Amazon 4-star is a new physical store that makes it fun and easy for customers to shop and discover products they’ll love. The store carries highly rated products from the top categories across all of Amazon.com including devices, consumer electronics, kitchen, home, toys, books, games, and more,” a spokesperson says.

“Everything in store is rated 4 stars and above by our customers, or is a top seller, or is new and trending on Amazon.com.”

Among featured sections is “Trending Around Raleigh.”

Amazon has had “pop-up” stores in the Triangle previously.

The Raleigh store would join a lineup of some 30 stores spread across 17 states.
