CARY – Epic Games, the video game developer behind “Fortnite,” said it would offer players who make real-money purchases in the game and are new subscribers to Disney+ up to two months free of the streaming service.

The company said all Fortnite players over the age of 18 who’ve made real-money purchases in the game would be eligible to receive up to two complimentary months of Disney+ in countries and territories where the service is available.

The offer will be available from Nov. 11 through Dec. 31.

After making an in-game purchase, Fortnite players will be led to a website to redeem the offer.

“We’re always looking for ways to add value for our Fortnite players, whether it’s with gameplay or other types of entertainment experiences,” Epic Games president Adam Sussman said.

“Extending our partnership with Disney lets us further expand on that value, unlocking an incredible amount of entertainment for our players on Disney’s growing streaming platform, and just in time for The Mandalorian Season 2,” Sussman added.

Disney also hopes to gain from this collaboration with Fortnite, which is played by more than 350 million people.

“After years of a strong relationship between Disney and Epic, we’re excited to expand on our collaboration with the new Disney+ Fortnite offer. We’re coming up on the 1-year anniversary of Disney+ and delighted to mark the occasion by extending the Disney+ experience and incredible content to Fortnite’s passionate fans,” Disney+ president Michael Paull said.

Disney+ features a vast array of famous TV and movie titles, with content from Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and more.
