RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – When it comes to streaming video games, Twitch dominates big-name rivals YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming, a new report says.

“According to data gathered by SafeBettingSites.com, the popular live streaming platform hit 13bn hours watched between January and September, almost 90% more than YouTube Gaming and Facebook Gaming combined,” reports SafeBettingSites.com.

Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, tightened its hold on the top spot even as the global pandemic drove more and more people online in search of entertainment.

“Statistics show the number of active streamers also significantly increased amid the coronavirus lockdown, growing from 3.9 million in January to 7.5 million in September,” the news site reports.

So far 2020 has been one for the record books, lifting traffic sharply for eSports and other titles.
