RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Pendo is destined for a new HQ in a new Raleigh skyscraper, has soared to “unicorn” status as a $1 billion-plus valued emerging company, and is growing its software business worldwide. So all that good news has a lot of Pendo employees smiling even though there’s plenty of grumbling and dissatisfaction among Triangle workers in these times of COVID-19.

A recent surevey of “Happiest Employees” based on anonymous employee feedback at Comparably.com ranks Pendo No. 5 among small/medium businesses.

On a scale of 5, Pendo received a 4.9.

But Pendo is a rarity. It’s the only NC firm in the top 50.

Contrast this will the large company list where not a Triangle firm is to be found.

Rick Smith, WRAL TechWire’s editor and a cofounder, writes The Skinny.

Pendo CEO Todd Olson, who received a 94 score out of a possible 100 via the Comparably survey, puts a huge emphasis on teamwork and employee involvement, building what this survey indicates is a good place to work.

“We look at those three aspects. Diversity is the numbers — it’s how diverse are you?… Inclusion is, how do people feel? Now, I’m a big believer that if you have a very inclusive workforce, it will attract more and more people of a diverse background,” Olson told Laura Brummett, a UNC-CH student journalist, in a profile we reprinted at TechWire.
