CARY – Epic Games may be getting a big ally in its anitrust fight against Apple.

Facebook.

An executive for Facebook said in a conference call on Wednesday that the social media giant may become a party to the Epic suit, which is set for trial in federal court in California next year.

Why?

Well, Facebook is engaged in an increasingly intense with Apple over data privacy and apps.

And Epic is fighting Amazon over mandatory 30% fees charged by Apple in its app story.

“We think it’s really important that the court understand far reaching impact of Apple’s unfair policies,” Steve Satterfield, a director of privacy and public policy at Facebook, according to Cnet.

Microsoft also has expressed support for Epic.

Epic recently expanded its legal fight against Apple to Australia.
