CARY — Oliver Schabenberger is leaving SAS in January to pursue other interests, according to Cary-based SAS.

Shannon Heath, SAS corporate PR manager tells WRAL Techwire, “Jim Goodnight remains at the helm of the company – and he is surrounded by a deep leadership bench and more than 14,000 global employees all focused on one goal:  providing analytics and AI software that helps businesses succeed.”

Schabenberger, COO and CTO of the Cary-based analytics firm, was in line to succeed Goodnight.

Heath said there are no plans to replace Oliver at this time.
