CARY – Epic Games is expanding its legal war against Apple over the banning of its game Fortnite to the United Kingdom in a move filed within hours of a judge ordering additional Epic executives to provide documents in the original case filed in California.

On Thursday, Epic filed a complaint against Apple in the UK with its antitrust tribunal.

“The company said Apple’s decision to remove the game from the iPhone maker’s App Store was unlawful,” Bloomberg News reported.

“The move came after the games maker sought to offer in-app purchases without using Apple’s digital payments service. The complaint, alongside a similar one against Alphabet Inc.’s Google, was made public by the Competition Appeal Tribunal Thursday.”

Epic first sued Apple in US federal court (and Apple responded with a suit of its own) last year. And it recently filed for legal action in Australia.

Meanwhile, in California a court ordered that three additional Epic execs must provide documents. A trial is set this spring.

“The three additional custodians in question are Joseph Babcock, Epic’s former CFO, Arjan Brussee, the project lead on Fortnite Mobile and Switch, and Joe Kreiner, Epic’s VP of Business Development,” according to a media report. “Apple says that each of these custodians ‘serves a unique and critical role in the case.'”
