RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – People in search of work or a career change have a growing number of options to pursue as the Triangle economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. Two major job boards show more than 40,000 open positions and other sites have thousands more.

And NCWorks has information about thousands of jobs, adding more than 120 on Sunday alone. In fact, some 20 companies have 100 or more spots to fill.

Last week, news headlines were filled with promising announcements related to the Triangle’s job market. As the jobless rate continues to decline across North Carolina, Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies announced it would create hundreds of high-paying jobs at its upcoming drug manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, and Google will add another 1,000 jobs at a new cloud computing hub in Durham.

National job boards show thousands of opportunities in the Triangle:

  • Glassdoor: More than 40,150 jobs in the Triangle
  • Indeed: 14,027 jobs in Raleigh, 7,286 in Durham and 2,300 in Chapel Hill
  • LinkedIn: 40,851 in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area, including 18,389 jobs in Raleigh, 8,930 in Durham, 1,696 in Chapel Hill

Aside from the boards above, job seekers can also find local startup jobs at SimplyHired (241 jobs are available near Research Triangle Park), LinkedIn (1,034 results in and around Raleigh), Indeed (251 startup jobs in RTP), and AngelList (job openings in Raleigh, Durham and across North Carolina).

NCWorks

NCWorks is a statewide job search portal run by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, which has nearly 100 career centers located across the state. Users can filter NCWorks’ database by keyword, location, occupation group or specific occupations, minimum acceptable salary, education level, job sources and date posted. NCWorks also has a mobile app on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The site’s COVID-19 job board lists companies hiring to fill immediate technical and healthcare needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

North Carolina military veterans, transitioning service members and spouses can find additional resources on NCWorks’ separate veterans portal.

NEW JOBS: 

NCWorks reports thousands of available positions with 113 new jobs posted on Sunday, March 21 alone.

More than 3,000 people added or updated their resumes at the site.

Every month, it hosts a free “Transitions Mastermind” program for job seekers and those seeking advice on career improvement.

AMA Triangle’s job board currently features 77 marketing jobs within a 100-mile radius of Raleigh, 43 results within a 100-mile radius of Durham, and 50 results within a 100-mile radius of Chapel Hill.

Here are the local positions that were added to the site over the last week:

  • Merck & Co., Inc. is hiring executives to lead healthcare provider marketing for its oncology business units in the Triangle.
  • PPD is hiring a marketing manager (home or office-based) in Morrisville.
  • John Rex Endowment is seeking a communications director in Raleigh.

American Underground

Durham-based startup hub American Underground regularly posts job openings on its job board. Job seekers can filter their search by skills, position level (c-suite, co-founder, entry-level, mid-level or senior-level), job type (full-time, part-time or intern), job classification (1099 or W2), and work location (on-site, flexible or remote).

Since last week’s roundup, one new listing was added to AU’s job board: Kinston-based private jet company FlyExclusive is hiring a development lead to build a dev group in Durham.

One new job was added to NC TECH’s job board since last week’s roundup: SAP SuccessFactors business analyst at Retail Business Services in North Carolina.
