RALEIGH – Alex Lassiter, the Triangle-based entrepreneur who co-founded Gather in a living room and later sold the company to Vista Equity Partners in late 2017, has founded another company, Green Places, which is currently in stealth mode, though Lassiter has raised $975,000 from seven investors to seed the company, according to an SEC filing.

Lassiter spent much of 2020 thinking about what type of startup he wanted to build next, he told WRAL TechWire in a brief interview.  The new company, noted on the SEC filing as Green Places LLC, will focus on helping small businesses meet their sustainability goals, he said.

The company is working to launch a product later this year, though it does already have a few clients, Lassiter said.
