RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Lulu Press, Inc., also known as Lulu.com, has appointed Kathy Hensgen to the role of Chief Executive Officer, noting in an announcement that Hensgen will be responsible for direction and strategy as the firm grows.

“I am excited for the opportunity to build on what we have accomplished here at Lulu and continue offering the best resources and support for authors and entrepreneurs around the globe,” said Hensgen in a statement.

Prior to accepting the CEO role, Hensgen was Lulu’s COO and president.  Hensgen’s background includes more than 20 years of publishing and software experience, including 11 at the company. Hensgen led the company into ecommerce fulfillment with the first print-on-demand plugin for printing and shipping books, the company noted.

Bob Young, the founder and former CEO of Lulu, will remain chair of the board of directors.
