CARY – LeBron James, also known by the NBA superstar’s fan-given name, King James, may soon appear in the global hit Fortnite, according to multiple reports from dataminers known for accurate discoveries in the mega-popular game from Epic Games.

According to reports from Twitter users @Hypex and @Shiina, LeBron James seems likely to be the next major skin to be added, perhaps to promote the upcoming film in which James stars, Space Jam: A New Legacy, set for release on July 16.

A “skin” is a custom look that a character can acquire in Fortnite.  Some skins require an in-app purchase.

Epic has previously introduced other skins, including ones with NBA team themes, and the recently released Marvel’s Loki Laufeyson skin, as well as character-based skins like Deathstroke, Superman and Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy.

The two dataminers tweeted out news of the launch of the skin. While no images of the Lebron James skin were revealed, @Shinna stated that the skin will be classified as a part of the Icon Series.

@Hypex claimed that players will be able to “earn rewards by completing King’s Bling quests.” “King’s Bling” is likely in reference to James’ nickname, “King James.”
